Got a girl crush on: Lizzie Powell of Land of Talk

As Lizzie explains at the end of this video, “Some Are Lakes” is a song about the dedication her parents have to each other. How after 40 years of ups and downs, they still laugh at each others’ jokes. This had me thinking about my own parents. After dedicating themselves to my younger sister and I for the last 20 some-odd years, they’ve entered a second honeymoon of sorts where they truly & wholly get to enjoy each others company again as they did when they first met as young twenty-somethings.

So, Lizzie, I want to thank you for sharing that story with us. You had me damn near crying.
