Got a Girl Crush On: The Campfire Girls

Founded in 1910 in Vermont (and surprisingly predeceasing the Girl Scouts of America by a mere 2 years and the Lumber Jills by 30) as a young girls’ answer to The Boy Scouts. Campfire Girls was the first nonsectarian, multicultural organization for girls in America with programs emphasize camping and other outdoor activities for youth (and later opened to boys in 1975).

…and even 65 years later

“To this day, the women follow the rule of "no boys allowed,” with the exceptions of letting husbands attend the annual Christmas party"
