Got a girl crush on: Shelley Duvall
My favorite story in the latest issue of Lula is the piece on Shelley Duval. Sure she was great in Popeye, The Shining, etc., but can we please talk about Shelley Duval’s Faerie Tale Theatre? That shit was amazing! She hosted, narrated, produced and occasionally stared in this series that retold popular fairy tales. And everybody who’s anybody was in it! Tim Burton directed “Aladdin”, Francis Ford Coppola directed “Rip Van Winkle”, Mick Jagger played the emperor in “The Nightingale”, Susan Sarandon was in “Beauty and the Beast”, Christopher Reeve and Bernadette Peters starred in “Sleeping Beauty”, Jeff Bridges was in “Rapunzel”…this list goes on and on.
And after a bit of googling, it seems like Paste Magazine was recently reminiscing on this, too, and has informed us that episodes are available on Hulu.
