Got a girl crush on: Joyce Kim

Now, who here grew up in a heavily Asian-populated town and knew AT LEAST one Joyce Kim? It’s definitely a name that I need to be careful with when doing a friend search on Facebook. Because of this, I’m always startled when I see Joyce Kim’s (the photographer) name on art/design sites.

But that’s besides the point. I remember the first time I came across the Baltimore-based photographe’s work and had that feeling inside me where I’m nervous, eager, excited, and restless all at the same time. Then today, I saw her featured on BOOOOOOOM! and all those emotions came rushing back again.

Her powerfully simplistic images perfectly match her artfully designed portfolio site, which you should all go and visit right this instant. Especially the panoramas, which I wouldn’t dare befoul by posting into this flash photoset thingy.
