Got a girl crush on: General Store I was going to wait for my photos to develop to do a post on Serena Mitnik-Miller and Mason St. Peters’ Outer Sunset shop General Store, but what could I possibly say that Lisa hasn’t already said over at Poppytalk. I, too, stopped by the shop this weekend after reading about it on Apartment Therapy and it is truly a delightful place. General Store is all your favorite kinds of stores in one: they sell everything from books & house wares to vintage clothing & jewelry, and soon plants (they’ve got a greenhouse out in the backyard! Yes. Greenhouse. Yes. Backyard). Upon walking in, my eyes had a field day and I really had to restrain myself! One thing I noticed about their vintage inventory was that they selected a few key items and stocked it in multiple versions & sizes. This way, everyone can walk away with one. Their main inventory at the moment consists of solid colored wool/cashmere sweaters & cardigans, army jackets, Aran fisherman sweaters (which coincidentally, I was wearing one that day!), and kiltie Roper boots. What I did end up picking up was one of Mitnik-Miller’s painted wood triangle blocks, a Stymie tee, and the softest cashmere gray cardigan. While you’re there, stop in next door to Trouble Coffee for a latte and cookie and then get your mind blown over at the Camera Obscura. A pretty perfect day right there if ya ask me.
