Now, I’m well aware of Ellie Greenwich’s legacy in American pop music (think, “Be My Baby”, “Da Doo Run Run”, “Leader of the Pack”, “Do Wah Diddy Diddy”) and her role in popularizing “girl groups”, but had no idea she recorded some songs of her own. This song is just as toe-tappin’ fun and catchy as the ones she’s penned for The Ronnettes, The Shangri-Las.
